Gospel Revisited Project | Sing for your Soul | Elgar Concert Hall Dec 24

Led by Affinity Xtra host Nikki Tapper, experience the highlights of this remarkable event in the West Midlands: Gospel Revisited Project presents “Sing for Your Soul” Gospel Choir. Featuring a 70-strong choir, this performance celebrated the music of legendary gospel choirs, with classics and standards beautifully reworked by Ray Prince and Jonathan Silk.

Held on Fri 13 and Sat 14 Dec. 2024 at the Elgar Concert Hall, Bramall, Gospel Revisited Project engaged the mind, body, and soul, thrilling existing gospel music lovers while introducing new, diverse audiences to the genre’s power and beauty. Through the careful re-imagination of classic and contemporary scores, this event celebrated the history, heritage, and profound influence of Gospel music.

#GL360Productions is proud to have supported the Gospel Revisited Project over the past 4 years, they are fusing the traditional gospel sound with Classical instruments. This is the #Letsplay project looking back on songs from the past, appreciate the music and the lyrics that was song for decades in the Afro-Caribbean church.

We’ll be revisiting the work of Thomas A Dorsey, known as the father of Black Gospel music, Fanny J Crosby, The Hawkins, Richard Smallwood and André Crouch, whose collaborations included Stevie Wonder, Elton John, and Michael Jackson, to name just a few. We pays homage to these ground-breaking artists in a performance that brings together the regions finest professional Gospel musicians with the full force of the University Philharmonic Orchestra and Big Band. Experience Gospel music like never before.
